Surf Film Party 'Zorched' Gold Coast Australia Recap
Who knew a surf film could bring together so many high quality humans?! Welll… we had a hunch!
This year’s Zorched film brought together over 500 of our dearest mates, travelling from all corners of Australia.
For one hazy night, the Gold Coast hummed once again with the electric pulse of surf culture. After premiering the film in California, it was time to return to home turf.
Time to give the people what they've been begging for!
It's a yearly spectacle from the Inner Relm Team. We pick a bunch of places around the world, throw a party at each spot, show our film, drink some beers and throw down some sticky carpet D-floor antics. The biggest contrasting phenomenon this year? The mosh pit quickly turning from ruckus energy den to 500 quietly seated, googly eyed, highly engaged viewers as the surf film blasted through international sections from the team of ladies and men. It didn't take long after the film to quickly return to the sweat-inducing, shoulder-to-shoulder mosh pit we had almost forgotten about. Left in awe by the electric energy of the film, bands and turnout, the atmosphere was buzzing and the community? Absolutely Frothing! So much so that a passing police car stopped and told the venue to limit the amount of people on the balcony.
A surf film that brings the nostalgic home video vibes with the best and our favourite unseen ridden waves of the season & a soundtrack so fierce even Shazam was sweating. Sweaty bodies & wide grins danced to the music of talented bands Royal Ratbags, Media Puzzle, Clusp, HoneyGum.
We finished off the quintet with heavy hitting main act ‘ Radium Dolls‘ who created a crowd singing sound that makes your BPM rise so quick you question;

The energy around the brand felt different this year. Like the snowball momentum had turned up a notch and was quickly becoming a snow boulder. There was an undeniable excitement in the room that only the youth can bring in such authentically high levels.
Bringing together community is something that we do - and shit… we do it well!
